YAC – Young Architects Competitions announces the winners of Pinocchio Children’s Library, an ideas competition that was launched last September and aimed to the design of the greatest international library dedicated to Pinocchio, the most famous puppet in the world.

The jury that assessed the submissions was noteworth: Italo Rota, Mario Cucinella, Fabio Novembre, Emmanuelle Moureaux, among others, featured on the international panel. There was a total cash prize of 20,000€ to reward the winning projects: the 1st prize – 10,000€ – was awarded to the French team “vGHcompany”, the 2nd prize – 4,000€ – to the Polish team “Gierbienis + Poklewski” and the 3rd prize – 2,000€ – went to the Guatemalan team “De Oliveira Castro Arquitectos”. The 4 Gold Mentions – a prize of 1,000€ each – have been assigned to teams “OPV” (Italy), “OOLI” (South Korea), “DEPLUS ZATTI” (France) and “Pájaros mañaneros” (Spain). Besides, 43 additional projects have been awarded 11 Honorable Mentions and 32 Finalist Mentions respectively.Continue reading

Jan 30, 2021 as Pinocchio David is a native of San Juan, Puerto Rico. While earning his Masters degree from the University of Oklahoma, he received the Weitzenhoffer Opera Fellowship. Last summer, David sang the role of Count Almaviva in The Barber of Seville with the New York Opera Conservatory (Peekskill).

Following the outstanding reception received from critics following screenings on the festival circuit and its theatrical release in July, Garrone’s live action telling of the beloved classic Pinocchio story captured the imagination of audiences across the country. Vertigo Releasing is delighted to announce the Home Entertainment release of PINOCCHIO, available on digital from December 7, and on DVD from December 14, 2020.

PINOCCHIO tells the tale of an old woodcarver named Gepetto (Roberto Benigni) who creates a puppet, which then magically comes to life. Gepetto names him Pinocchio (Federico Ielapi) and brings him up as his son. Pinocchio however finds it hard to be good and is easily led astray. He ends up stumbling from one misadventure to another – whether in the belly of a giant fish, in the Land of Toys or in the Field of Miracles. It is up to his loyal friend the Fairy (Marine Vacth) to help him see that his dream of becoming a real boy is only possible if he finally changes his ways.
